How to convert Google Slides to a video

Multimedia presentation tips. Get it done in a few clicks

Google Slides

We frequently use slides because they are an excellent presentation tool. It is not the best method for sharing and replaying the presentation unless you intend to deliver it again in the future. However, you can convert these presentations into a video with just a few clicks, adding your voice and eliminating the need to click with each slide.

Videos are not only easier to share, but they also prevent a lot of compatibility issues that could arise if someone tried to open your slideshow in an application that it wasn’t intended for. Excel and Google Sheets can be used together, but the experience is not seamless. Video plays well almost everywhere and in almost any current video player, including YouTube.

Somehow, Google does not provide this feature by default. Having said that, this function is accomplished by several free Google Workplace add-ons. We will use Creator Studio, one of these free extensions, in this tutorial.

How to create videos from Google Slides?

  1. Install the Creator Studio add-on by going to Extensions > Add-ons > Get add-ons. Search Creator Studio in the search bar and select the first result.
