The acquisitions
- Salesforce → Rune Technologies (29 October): logistics software for military teams that works with little connectivity.
- Salesforce → Cresta (2 November): AI voice agents for customer service, used by Marriott, Comcast and Alaska Airlines. Read the story.
- onsemi → Ferric (2 November): $600 million in cash at closing for power components that sit next to AI processors. Read the story.
Where the money is going
Most of the capital went to infrastructure and work software rather than consumer apps: running AI models (Modal, Simplismart), checking code (Greptile), legal and finance work (Legora, Pigment), and AI in the physical world (Bedrock Robotics, Tractian, ASI). Four of the ten companies disclosed valuations above $1 billion.
